Koramangala 3rd Block residents have been agitated for a number of months on the traffic problems caused by the Greenwood High School located right in the midst of a residential area. The school is located on 1st Cross Road (Sarjapur Service Road) near the 13th Main Road.
The main problem for residents is the indiscriminate parking of school buses on a narrow Service Road and at the junctions of roads thereby causing an unsafe traffic situation.
There have been many minor accidents and many other dangerous situations have been narrowly averted by providence.
In response to the litany of complaints relating to the parking of buses, a delegation of senior members of the Managing Committee of the Koramangala 3rd Block Residents’ Welfare Association met the Headmistress of the school to voice their concerns and to request the Management of the School to look for alternative parking spaces for their school vehicles.
In spite of specific assurances, there would appear to have been no movement forward at all. The School management appears to be paying mere lip service to the issues presented by the residents of the area.
Upset residents of the block are now vowing to take up this issue with the Bangalore City Traffic Police and insist that the buses parked there be towed away. They are not ruling out legal action against the school and its management if effective steps are not taken.
